About Egidijus Miknius
Egidijus Miknius is a professional conductor, trombone player, and teacher. As a conductor and soloist, he participated in various festivals and projects in all Europe.
Born in 1968 in Plungė, Lithuania, Egidijus went on to study trombone performance at the Stasys Šimkus Conservatoire (with prof. J. Barkauskas) and in 1993 he graduated from Lithuanian Academy of Music (with prof. R. Valančius). After he continued studies in Germany and received “Konzertsolist Bassposaune” diploma at the Hannover Higher Music School (with prof. J. Bylund). In 2016 he received a Bachelor’s degree in symphonic conducting (with prof. J. Domarkas) and diploma for music pedagogy at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. In 2019 E. Miknius graduated with a Master’s degree program in symphonic conducting at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (with prof. J. Domarkas).
As a soloist, Egidijus performed with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian Armed Forces and other projects of chamber music.
He is a founder, artistic director and conductor of ensemble Protuberus Brass, 2010 – 2012 artistic director and conductor of Brass Band Seniors, 2012 – 2017 artistic director and conductor of the Representative Wind Orchestra of the Ministry of the Interior, from 2014
– the conductor of the Baltic Chamber Orchestra Theatre BKOT. From 2018 E. Miknius is a conductor of the Lithuanian Navy Orchestra. As a guest, he worked with Klaipeda State Music Theatre, also with various orchestras such as Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, Vytautas Magnus University, and Šiauliai Chamber Orchestras, the State Wind Orchestra “Trimitas”, the Palanga Wind Orchestra, etc.
