About Aiste Bruzaite
Since 2002 playing in the folk instruments ensemble 'Vaivora' A. Bruzaite actively joined the concert life of the musical schools all around the country, participated in musical parades, as well as in many festivals abroad . Aiste is expanding kankles music capabilities making a variety of projects with participation of classical musical instruments and orchestras. She performed numerous contemporary works of Lithuanian composers, creation many of those was often initiated by the artist herself. Playing kankles duo (along with the another kankles player Jolita Matkiene) and the ensemble BAccK (Aiste Bruzaite - kankles, Irmantas Andriūnas – birbynė, Daniel Rozovas - accordion) . In 2008 and 2013 she was a member of the organizing committee during the III and IV International J.Shvedas competition-festival of folk instrument performers. Aiste is active in organizing concerts and workshops across Lithuania, participates in international and national conferences and seminars.
After finishing her studies at Skuodo art school (teacher Seva Kazankoviene) Aiste Bruzaite attended St. Simkaus Conservatory in Klaipeda (teacher Vida Zeleniene). In 2001 she entered Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy (Prof. Lina Naikeliene kankles class) . In 2010 Aiste graduated Lithuanian Academy of Music in art studies in the field of music direction, art postgraduate studies and was awarded the arts licentiate degree. A. Bruzaite - Vilnius Dvarionas Music school expert teacher, folk instruments methodology group leader, lecturer in Lithuanian Academy of Music, prize-winner of national (J. Svedas national competitions: 1998 - II prize, 2000 - I prize, 2002 - I prize, 2005 - I prize) and international competitions: 2001 and 2003 - I prize at Pskov folk multi-string instruments international competition in soloists category, and 2004 I prize also in ensemble category with Jolita Matkiene; 2008 - Grand Prix at III International multi-string folk musical instruments competition in soloist category, II prize in ensemble category with 'Vaivora'; 2009 – Grand Prix with 'Vaivora' at the International competition for multi-string folk instruments and festival "Baltia" in St. Petersburg (Russia), 2010 – I prize as a soloist at the II International music Competition – festival 'Renaissance' for the Armenian genocide 95th anniversary; 2011 – IV prize and a special folk prize with 'Vaivora' at the VII International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka (Japan ). Aiste often participates in national and international music festivals in Lithuania and abroad (Latvia, Estonia, Russia, India, United States, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus, Germany).
